Welcome to Short Story Salad! We are a small group of friends who write and want to get better at writing, so we write to do so.
What do you guys do?
We write stories. Short stories. Short story writing exercises. Three times a week and post these stories on Monday, Wednesday and
Saturday Friday. We’ve been doing this for the past two months and it’s been pretty sweet.
Short story writing exercises?
Yup. The challenge in our exercises is the time we set for ourselves. We only have one hour to write each installment. An additional challenge is that each author only writes his/her Part 1 and Part 3. We pass Part 2 to another author in the group to write up. Basically an exquisite corpse.
Part 1, 2, 3 … uh?! Who writes what now?
Good question, we sometimes get a bit confused as well. Here’s a chart:
And then it repeats. We hope this helps. It helps us.
Wait… I’m still confused…
I don’t blame you. Basically, if you want to find a story, you should click on one of our categories on the right. Part 1, Part 2, Part 3 refer to the the parts of the weekly story. Clicking on Story by… will take you to all the stories that that author has started in ascending order by which they were posted. Clicking on Written by… will take you too all the stories that that author has written.
Bear in mind that clicking on Written by… will be a bit of a scrambled page because we switch off stories on a weekly basis.
You guys have been doing this for two months? Can I read your older stories?
Of course! Check out the Catalog Page to see all the old stories neatly collected together.
Where did you guys post your old stories?
Tumblr and Blogger mostly. But we needed a simple blog as a catch all for these stories, one where we could all organize as need be.
Well that’s about it! Hope to see you soon!
Needless to say, all stories posted on this website are the intellectual properties of their authors.
